Michael Reader
Founder & CEO
The makeup of an entrepreneur is deeply embedded in Michael Reader’s DNA. He loves waking up in the morning with an idea, getting to the office and putting the idea to work for clients by lunchtime – as long as he has had enough Diet Dr. Peppers. He has a gift for using to technology to help businesses in the beauty industry become more successful.
Reader honed his skills as founder and CEO of Meetings.com – a company which served corporate & association clients with event planning and convention management services. 95% of the company’s revenues where produced from the Internet Marketing skills developed during this time, and The Nashville Chamber of Commerce recognized the company for three years in a row as one of the 50 fastest growing companies in Middle Tennessee. After selling the business in 2002, Reader became an Internet Marketing Consultant. In addition to working with several Fortune 500 companies, he began developing new online business initiatives of his own which led to the creation of StyleNet in 2005.
Heather Smith
President
Heather Smith, a Nashville native, can help clients break down the barriers and tap into using technology to help their salon business grow. She’s a smart, sassy, business-minded woman with a killer sense of humor.
Would you believe us if we told you Heather’s favorite weekend activity is teaching a class at a trade show? That is where you will find her most weekends because she gets joy from helping others. Helping people is Heather’s drug. She works with an approach which can take a very complicated and frustrating set of circumstances, such as, trying to understand technology, and dissects it into bite-size chunks for the client. Along the way clients have fun, learn, and are inspired to take a new look at their business with a clear understanding of using the web to help utilize growth.
Justin Gardner
Director of Operations
We weren’t going to say anything, but Justin brought it up: He is proud of being a “bald nerd” who comes from “middle-of-nowhere” Martin, Tenn., with loads of knowledge about the style industry. As a matter of fact, Justin’s dedication to building a website clients can be proud of is so evident, he was the winner and is always in the running for the MVP of StyleNet award. He has a unique skillset comprised of problem solving abilities, a flair for customer service and the ambition to go beyond a client’s vision of what they expect from the StyleNet team. Justin makes us all better.
He’s the man when it comes to guiding clients through the process of building a website – no matter how overwhelming and new the process may seem to them. Fatherhood is another new process that Justin is handling well. Spending time with his new little boy is at the top of his list, but he also loves fishing, golf and playing video games. With these qualities, we don’t care where Justin comes from or what his hair – or lack thereof – looks like.
Maria Murray
Senior Account Manager
Maria Murray is a Jack, or shall we say, Jill of all trades. Learning new programs or aspects of any job takes place at lightening speed, a super power that benefits our StyleNet team. As our Senior Account Manager, Maria serves as a guidepost for her fellow account managers and is quite the maestro at problem solving. Her clients know she will go above and beyond to ensure their happiness and deliver fresh and original ideas to engage their audience. She also uses her uncanny branding abilities to collaborate with our clients to build websites from the ground floor, and Maria takes pride in getting their new and improved social sites up and running.
Originally from Edgewood, KY, just across the river from Cincinnati, OH, Maria accepted an internship in Nashville and fell in love with the city. She is a supporter of Nashville Paw, which promotes pet lifestyles and support animal rescue welfare. She has also worked with Hands on Nashville, an organization that meets community needs by connecting volunteers to all available opportunities. It’s clear she has fully embraced her adoptive city and works to make it the very best, just as she does in our office.
David Gallagher
Creative Director
If variety is the spice of life, then we can all use a little more David in ours. Don’t confuse variety with clutter, though. David’s website designs are clean and thoughtful, and he is able to incorporate everything about a client’s business into a unified, straightforward website. David brings skills from his days of designing in the print and television world to the digital space. He is able to couple his creative skills with technical skills. It’s a combination that delivers fun AND results.
His desk is littered with distinguishing awards. He has received father-of-the-year from his family for 15 years in a row. His passion, whether it is for website design, fatherhood, church, music or volunteering is infectious. The only thing he won’t give up is time with his family or the recipe which won him the StyleNet's Christmas party potluck contest. But, if you need anything else, David is the man to talk to.
Kelly Shamblin
Accounting Manager
Look, we know there may be some issues when we work together with salon businesses to create a website or online plan. Our clients usually have strong visions of how they want their online presence to look, feel and operate. Kelly digs into these matters and takes the time to understand what they need. She is a devoted problem solver who never misses a beat – a value she probably learned while earning numerous medals and trophies in Irish step dancing competitions. She dances to meet and exceed our client’s expectations on every project StyleNet is committed to, so they can leap over the competition.
Kelly’s background in accounting, coupled with a strong understanding and enthusiasm for web design, is a valued asset when it comes to our relationships with clients. In fact, it’s what separates StyleNet from other agencies. We are thrilled Kelly’s decided to land in Nashville after spending time in Syracuse, NY.., and Raleigh, N.C., and once you begin working together, you will be too. Her get-up-and-go attitude is treasured by us, our clients and the non-profits at which she volunteers.
Taylor Noble
Content Developer
You know those “Most Interesting Man in the World” ads? It’s possible they were inspired by Taylor. Information is one of the main reasons customers visit salon and spa websites, and Taylor, a former U.S. army communications specialist, makes sure clients are promoting their services and products in a user-friendly manner. He helps clients present content in an informative, attractive and SEO-friendly manner. Because if consumers can’t find what they are looking for on your website, what good is it?
Taylor hangs his hat on strong content development and a content strategy which leads to salon and spas generating new revenue when customers find them online. Quality content is at the heart of every integrated, targeted approach to marketing, and Taylor sees to it that your content is attracting eyeballs and converting customers at the highest level possible. From a decorated army veteran to a content specialist, Taylor is a man who knows coffee AND whiskey. He is as comfortable cooking in the kitchen as he is watching a football game. He just might be the most interesting man in the world. And if he isn’t, at least he knows how to make your website interesting.
Shannon D'Atre
Sales Representative
As a Sales Representative, Shannon D’Atre does the diligent work of connecting with salons and spas across the country to share the StyleNet vision.
We don’t mean to brag, but her passion for our industry and the people in it is palpable. Shannon has enjoyed and takes pride in her 30-year career, which has been highlighted by award-winning work. Furthermore, we hope you’re not scared of heights, because Shannon actively works to lift our clients to new heights they never thought possible, all the while working hard and building relationships that last years. You might just say it’s in her blood.
The Charlotte, NC native shares her passion with animal rescue for those bald and bullied, specifically Sphynx cats and Pitbull rescues. “There are so many Sphynxes out there that haven’t been properly cared for, were poorly bred with serious medical conditions and don’t have a fighting chance. I have aided in the rescue of quite a few, nine of which became part of our family.” When not rivaling Doctor Doolittle with her stellar connection with animals, you can find Shannon watching Manchester United play and hanging out with her boys.
Jordan Lucas
Web Developer
In today’s market, you need an online presence. Sometimes, you do not know what you want or need, exactly. Jordan does a great job of working with a client to figure out what they may need and why they need it. Then he goes to work coding and designing the front-end of a website. He loves the logic of coding and the creativity of design, and he applies it to every task at StyleNet.
Jordan nurtured both sides of his brain in college, majoring in web media while minoring in art and computer science. You’d think that would be enough education for one to absorb, but Jordan would never give up his hunger for self-education. He’s always testing his new skills. Sounds like a big nerd, doesn’t he? Don’t think he is for a second. Although he has a calm and quiet exterior, his seeks the excitement of skydiving, whitewater rafting, dancing around like crazy and is always looking for the next adventure.
Justin Kline
Web Developer
Justin’s love for music makes Nashville the perfect city for him. He talks a lot about vibes – taking a client’s vision and orchestrating it into a functioning and well-designed website. Our clients have their own unique image and brand, and your website should reflect that. Justin usually captures it onscreen the first try.
With more than 10 years of experience, Justin is a master, but he is never bored. Each project brings a new opportunity for him to showcase his creativity and skills. Although he is trying to kick his coffee habit – or at least curb it – he finds tea inadequate to fuel his love for designing, developing, and being a father. With all the good Justin does, we can’t fault him for drinking too much coffee.

Jordan Sullivan
Account Manager
Account Manager Jordan Sullivan is a modern day Renaissance man. Before moving to Nashville, Jordan worked as a hair stylist in Arkansas. During this time, his passion for the business and producing innovative work first came to fruition. Jordan then pursued a degree in public relations, where he could marry his love for hair and marketing skills to help grow and promote a salon to the fullest. “I’m passionate about hairstylists succeeding and putting out quality, tailor made work for each client. As one myself, I feel like hairdressers are my tribe, and I know firsthand how hard it can be to thrive in the industry.”Â
No stranger to creative solutions and enthusiasm for his work, Jordan’s diligence and abilities have not gone unnoticed. Meredith Mitchell
Account Manager
Meredith Mitchell wanted to produce and host her own variety show when she grew up, so she is quite pleased to have the opportunity to help write the success story of her clients, one “episode” at a time.
Meredith is known for her ability to turn a phrase just so and thinking outside the box when designing advertising graphics for email promotions. She enjoys providing clients a fresh perspective and engaging content, but one that draws on her experience within the beauty industry. She works to highlight her clients’ personality, strength and getting to know how they contribute to their respective communities.
Before her time at StyleNet, Meredith worked with Austin Springs Spa & Salon for eight years, a premier establishment located in the esteemed Carnegie Hotel. There she helped develop marketing campaigns, built up their social media voice from a minimal online presence to representation across all outlets and fostered client engagement via promotions and social media content.
Does this lady like to do anything else but write and work with social media? Great question! Meredith has carried on a long love affair with film, music and comedy. She makes it a point to elicit laughter whenever the opportunity presents itself. She also takes part in supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and has done so since her diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes at age 19.
